Manvel Matevosian creates a style which helps to make the motif of human figure a popular symbol. His art is influenced by primitive art, abstractionism and surrealism. He tries to combine all those genres and create something new and different. Manvel represents the human figure in a convincing illusion of real space. He wants to depict figures in such a way as to capture a palpable sense of spatial distance, so that the viewers share the artist's own sense of distance from his model, or from the encounter that inspired the work.
Philosophical questions about the human condition play a significant role in his work. There is so much movement in Manvel Matevosian’s sculptures. His ‘’signature’’ in every sculpture is dynamics. When one takes a deeper look at the sculptures, it’s impossible not to feel each and every emotion that those figures share. There is so much mystery and emotion in those eyes.
